| Restoration
of Worn, Broken, Discolored or Poorly Shaped Teeth
Dr. McKinney can improve function and the appearance
of a smile by fixing broken, discolored, poorly
shaped or missing teeth utilizing one or more of
the following treatments:
- Tooth
Whitening
To address teeth that are not as white as desired,
custom bleaching trays can be made to use with
bleaching solution to lighten and whiten teeth.
Although results cannot be guaranteed, most people
experience whiter teeth after wearing the trays
2-4 hours per night over three to six weeks. Prior
fillings, crowns and veneers will not respond
to the bleaching and may require replacement after
the desired level of whiteness is achieved.

- Ceramic Veneers
Porcelain or Ceramic Veneers are conservative
dental restorations that are used
to improve tooth appearance by changing tooth color,
size and/or shape. Function and tooth strength
can also be improved with a Porcelain/Ceramic
Veneer. To prepare the tooth for a veneer, a very
thin layer of enamel is removed in order to make
room for the veneer. The veneer is then bonded
to the tooth.

- Porcelain
Fused to Metal Crowns
Porcelain Fused to Metal Crowns are the most common
type of crown used to rebuild, reshape and/or
protect teeth. The Porcelain Fused to Metal Crown
requires reduction (preparation) of the outer
layer of tooth structure (enamel) so the tooth
can be fitted for a crown. It is often a two visit
procedure, which involves the preparation of the
tooth and temporary acrylic crown placement at
the first visit followed by final cementation
of the crown at the second visit. With proper
tooth preparation, attention to detail (fit and
appearance) and thorough home care, your Porcelain
Fused to Metal Crowns can offer you years of service
while providing you with an attractive smile and
functional bite.

- Partial
Gold or Full Cast Gold Crowns
Sometimes Gold Crowns are needed on back
teeth (usually where they are not visible) to
protect and rebuild teeth. Gold Crowns are often
recommended in the back areas of the mouth as
they allow you to keep the maximum amount of healthy
tooth structure while protecting and supporting
stressed or worn areas. Gold restorations allow
for a desirable, close fitting crown and wear
most like enamel.
